Bobby McGee - ADOPTED
Notes: Bobby is a mellow guy.... very gentle and sweet, and just an easy-going boy. He is 6 years old, and came from a high-kill shelter in Los Angeles where he was languishing for 2 months before we heard about him. A reporter from the L.A. Times had been watching him and visiting him every other day, and fell in love with him. She couldn't adopt him herself due to already having several pets, but she couldn't forget Bobby, and so she contacted us for help. After much emailing and putting the word out, we found transportation for Bobby to get here. California Dals have it even worse than here - there are hundreds of homeless Dals in the shelters in Los Angeles. So he hitched a ride with a trucker who drove him to Phoenix so he could be here and meet some new people and find a forever home who will cherish him. He is very calm and sweet, though we suspect he will perk up a little more after he gets over his sadness from being in the shelter so long. In just a short time (few days) we have seen that tail start wagging a whole lot more! He will no doubt make a wonderful, gentle, loyal companion. He loves other dogs and seems to also be fine around cats. He seems to think that Janis Joplin wrote a song about him, though we have tried to tell him it was before his time....
