Rocco - ADOPTED
While Rocco was awaiting transport here from CA, his temporary foster fell in love with him and decided to keep him there. We are sponsoring his vet care in CA, but he has a permanent home now! Notes: I am trying to coordinate the rescue of a sweet senior Dalmatian named Rocco, who was abandoned at a high-kill shelter in Los Angeles. He's been there since April 12th. I saw the email plea on him with his picture the other day, and I ignored it at first because there are so many in need, and we just can't help them all, I told myself, and it's in L.A. after all, and he's old and there are so many who are younger and so much more adoptable!! But then I kept thinking about how he was lying on a cold hard floor in a noisy shelter, alone, waiting to be euthanized by a stranger, since no one is likely to adopt a 12 year old Dalmatian. That is just no way for this sweet dog to live out his golden years. I was not capable of saying "no" (can you believe it?), even though practically speaking, I really should. But I kept thinking about how I know there are a lot of caring people out there who likely want to help him as much as I do, and maybe if I get the word out, we'll find more help to pull this off!! WE NEED DONATIONS FOR HIS TRANSPORT AND FOR HIS VET CARE WHEN HE ARRIVES. We're also still looking for a ride for him, so if you know of anyone traveling between L.A. and Phoenix, please ask them if Rocco can hitch a ride! We have a foster home already tentatively secured, but if you're interested in fostering, please let me know on that too so we have a backup if needed. TO DONATE TOWARD HIS RESCUE, visit our website at www.DalmatianStation.com and click on the DONATE button. Every little bit will help, so please don't think a small donation is "too small". THANK YOU for caring and helping...
